The Waren-Verein as a national association represents the interests of foreign and wholesale trade with

Its aim is the optimum representation of interests of its members. By fulfilling this task its main activity is that of a service provider. Daily, the Waren-Verein deals with new EU regulations and national legislation in order to inform its members. To be as quick and actual as possible the association stands in permanent contact with Berlin and Brussels. It offers rapid and convincing solutions for problems, helps with questions of the food and customs law and informs thoroughly about trade political developments.
According to its statutes, the Waren-Verein stands up for worldwide freedom of trade and opposes determinedly discrimination against third countries (non-EU countries) by the European Union.
Its name is explained by traditional and historical reasons. Importers from Hamburg founded the association in order to create an own arbitration court and to fix rules of trade for its branch in written.
