According to Directive 96/23/EC the European Community set up plans in order to control certain substances and their residues in products of animal origin. Third countries which would like to export into the European Union have to supply the Commission with the guarantees necessary in view of the monitoring of residues and contaminants underlaying the above mentioned directive.
 |
|
The list of approved third countries is subject to changes. Countries can be deleted from the list when they do not fulfil the requirements any longer. Except of the residue controls in the third countries the product naturally also has to correspond to all European food laws. |
